Since 1972, The Town of Ridgeland, SC has celebrated its connection with the Gopher Tortoise each year in October at the Gopher Hill Festival. The festival offers family fun and entertainment including a children’s parade, grand parade, arts, crafts, kiddie rides, games, free outdoor concerts with a variety of entertainers and the ever-popular turtle race.
